OUR STORY
A Passion for Chocolate.
My mum and I founded Arlene’s in 2011, we both had a passion for baking and having lived on the island all my life spotted a gap in the market for a little coffee shop in our local village.
Throughout our journey we have developed our skills and are always interested in learning new techniques. In 2013 we found additional passion for chocolate making, and we have developed this skill massively over the past few years. We have been very lucky by being taught by UK World Master Chocolatier Ruth Hinks, who has been a tremendous support to us through our journey in both chocolate and patisserie work.
We pride ourselves in the vast range of home baking available each day from shortbread to French patisserie.
FINEST INGREDIENTS
LOCALLY SOURCED WHEN AVAILABLE.
We are very lucky on the island to have access to many locally grown and produced ingredients from the Isle of Mull. We try our best to showcase a small variety of these producers in our menus.
We regularly use the following producers:
WE KNOW OUR BEANS
EXTENSIVE RANGE OF BARISTA COFFEE.
We use high quality coffee beans from Italy, which are expertly paired with West Coast water to create the excellent barista coffees we served here.
There are many health benefits from drinking coffee, so there is no reason not to indulge a little with some cake!
